Long a favorite of brides and lei makers here in Hawaii, this handsome, wonderfully fragrant flower is thought to be native to Mexico. Its scent is described as complex, exotic, sweet, floral and the clusters of white, waxy flowers bloom from the bottom to the top of elongated spikes. I wanted to hint of the scent and waxy quality of a treasured flower with few leaves.
