Originally from Pennsylvania where she majored in art, Sarah received her Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Hawaii. While in Honolulu, Sarah taught visual design at the University of Hawaii, and classes for children at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. She then moved to Philadelphia and taught art in the public schools, before moving to Manhattan to curate a Classic Greek Revival townhouse museum.

When Sarah moved to Maui, she taught art at several local schools while living in Makawao and raising her family. In the 1990's, Sarah moved to San Francisco to work in the non-profit sector. Upon her retirement, she moved back to Maui and began seriously painting again in 2005. Painting has since become her passion. Her subjects are local landmarks and the luscious landscape of the Hawaiian Islands.

Sarah's work was quickly recognized and she has painted a number of commissioned works for private collectors. In 2008, her triptych, Kalo, was juried into Art Maui, and her multi panel painting, Orchid: Six Views, was juried into Art Maui 2009.
